Surrounded by nature in my studio I mainly like to capture native wildlife, more recently I include our stunning flora. Although i have lived in QLD almost half my life, i was born and raised in NSW where I have memories of the Botanical gardens and loved the native Waratah. I notice that in nature, especially when the sun hits the leaves and flowers, they become so vibrant and bright that their true colours come through, so i build my art to capture the vibrancy. I work in layers and create depth in the shapes to form my art. The sides have been kept the colour of the background, and i decided not to paint this piece with any features wrapping around the sides.
