About Kaz

Hello and welcome, here is a little bit about me. Quiet simply, I  create from the heart, From a young age I had a passion for drawing and painting, I would watch and learn as  I sat in on my mother’s  art lessons as a child.  I continued my love of painting and later studied for a Diploma in Showcard & Signwriting.  We moved from Sydney to rural Queensland and I put my career on hold while  focusing on raising a family, and i really didn’t get back into painting again until all my children (there were 4 ) became independent. I later studied a bachelor’s degree in education and I started to enter some local art shows and take on commissions.

I am inspired to paint from my surroundings. I love looking at Australia's natural environment and capturing its native flora and fauna. We have such amazing wildlife, bushland and coastal habitats that i want to show this  in my artwork. I am captivated by colour and have a passion for bright, vibrant and mesmerising colours. I try to express this throughout my art.  As a lover of all animals I often paint animal and wildlife portraits, and although I try to keep the subject of my painting true to character, I also like my art to have an expressive, abstracted feel and look about it. I also like painting abstracts for their intuitive loose and free style. I don't believe there is any right or wrong in art, you paint what you feel like painting.

I sometimes take on commissions and have artwork all over Australia and International. I work mainly with Acrylics or Oils but also like the  mixed media techniques just to add extra texture and depth, something a little bit different.
